Card 2 Xmas 2013- Noel!

Hello Everyone!

Well Christmas is upon us, and as soon as the snow falls I get a little nervous at the fact that I have nothing done!
So far I have 2 Christmas cards done.... So expect a few coming your way on this blog because this girl needs to get her butt into gear!!!!
My Christmas card tonight is another kraftin kimmies card! and probably not the last as I love KK designs.

When I saw this stamp I just had to get it. Not only is the girl so adorbs but I thought take the santa tag off of the cookies could be used as a great thank you card as well ( or in the case of this card I was going to use the tag but it accidentally got cut off when I was fussy cutting oops!)

Pleats are always a challenge for me (shhhh! I will let you in on a little secret that's why I am a pattern paper piecer b/c I am not a fan of coloring clothes) But with a little help around the web on how other girls coloured her dress I was able to do I think a decent job on them.

I am entering this card into the following Challenge
1. Kraftin kimmies Wednesday challenge

Inspired By:
- Cheryl Valadez www.theinktrap.blogspot.com (design inspiration)
- Jenny Peterson www.mylittlestampinspot.blogspot.ca (inspiration on how to colour her pleats

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? no it's a new card!!!!!!

Hello Everyone!!!!!

I have a new card today it only took me.......  7 hours to make! (granted some of that time was spent learning how to use my silhouette and coloring this image over and over again....)

This card was made for my cousin/ roomate's birthday which I am going to be celebrating in the next hour! it is also Thanksgiving here in Canada so I get Turkey!!! (yum!)

I bought this stamp last year when kraftin kimmie's released it specifically for my cousin, She loves coffee and I have had this idea brewing (no pun intended... well ok kinda intended hehehe) for the past year or two. Now I love this image but it isn't an easy one to colour as the image has a lot of thin lines and as I haven't been practicing I knew my colouring skills were off.... But I went for it anyways and gotta say I love my design.

I want to enter this card into the kraftin kimmie's challenge:
Kraftin kimmie birthday challenge

I will be back later to post what supplies I used but gotta get going to the birthday party!

Random fact: since todays Thanksgriving I thought it would only be right to say what I am thankful for....
1. My family I am so thankful for how close we all are and that we get to celebrate all these fun evens together
2. That I live in Canada- I am so fortunate to live in a place where I feel comfortable, secure, and proud of the people we are.
3. That I can share and see all the amazing talented scrabooking, cardmaking, crafty girls inspirations from all over the world! so thanks to you!!!!!!!

Joy, Peace, and Love this Christmas

Hello Everyone!

Ok so it has been June since I last posted but I have been creating.

I will have a few cards that I have created in the last few months to show off, starting with my favorite which is this one. Christmas will soon be arriving and every year I try to make at least a few Christmas cards before December. So far this is the only one I have made.... (I am secretly going AHHHHH! I only have a few months til then) I find it difficult to make the cards if I am not in the mood.

Here is my christmas card inspired by the very talented Cheryl's (inktrap) Halloween card that is one of my favorites of her's (I was inspired by the design of her card) you can find her card here at www.inktrap.blogspot.ca  (go to the side click on 2012 and go to Aug cards.... sorry I am still trying to figure out how to directly link to the post she made... If anyone can tell me how I would be very grateful)

Little something about me: Christmas is my favorite time of year. Being in Canada we get snow really early (sometimes as early as Sept) which I am not a fan of, But if on Christmas we don't have snow (only once from recent memory do I recall not having snow) it really isn't Christmas for me... I guess what would be ideal is if It snowed the week before christmas and then by New years it melted... lol I can dream!

Have a Puuurfect Birthday!

Hello Everyone,

My coworker celebrated her birthday last weekend so I made her a birthday card.
She loves cats which is fitting since we work in a Vet clinic therefore I had to make a kitty card.
My inspiration was easy I was inspired by our clinic cat Bucket who is pretty darn cute and when I saw this stamp from SOG I knew one day I would have to do a series of Bucket cards.

I entered this card into the trash your stash challenge on the Some odd girl community board where we had to use up some of our flower stash. Now I have tons of flowers yet I hardly use them on my cards because I feel like they overwhelm the card sometimes.

This is also the first time I used pencil crayon and gamesol... not a fan yet but for a first project I really hard for me to judge completely if I understand how to do this technique or not. Only thing I regret is that I shouldnt have used the copic on the eyes they look a little too yellow But I also wanted to just go with the flow on this card.

Ok I rambled enough time to post supplies

Stamp: Clever kitties, Kraftin Kimmies for the sentiment
Prisma Pencil colors: goldenrod, burn umber, ginger root, carmine red Copic: Y15
paper: MME Lost and Found 3 Oliver, cardstock michaels brand, flowers stamping up spray painted with juniper glimmer mist and walmart buttons added to them.
Bling and ribbon unsure (most likely bought at Michaels)

Hope you  like! and any comments I really do appreciate I am trying to get my butt in gear to make more I unfortunately am a procrastanator until I have a great idea in my head

Random Fact: I am posting a photo of my clinic cat Bucket we rescued him when he was just a kitten, he came in a bucket that is how he was named because the poor farmer rushed him to the clinic. (he had a broken leg caused by being caught in a fan belt of a truck) but doing really well now and hasn't stopped him from being a little trouble maker. bucket has unique fur we call him champaigne color cause he is not quite red contrary to what the photo has you believe so it was a little diffcult trying to make it a not so orange kitty

something old something new Whew!

Hi Everyone,

I did it! I made another card and it's still January lol 2 in one month is a new achievement!

I did have some difficulties making this one. (so please be kind ).

It is my cousins 16th birthday which of course is her sweet 16 we will be heading out for dinner at the Spaghetti Factory (only place that fits 19 of this (soon to be 20!) I am sure they see our name and go oh no it's them again! we go that often.

My cousin isn't a girly girl when asked what she is into these days I got this for an answer: Rugby, Basketball and school... Hmmm how do you make a card out of that. Although I wish there were teen girl sport stamps out there  because that is her passion and a few of the people I make cards for also have this passion.

Going through my stamps I just decided to do the next stamp that inspired me..... so Bambi Bubblegum it was I thought she seems teen like, isn't too girly and would be a fun image.

Kraftin kimmies is doing a challenge right now called something old something new and I decided to partake...  (something old is the card stock and embossing folder used, the thickers, the pink ink from close to my heart and I decided to use my oldest copic marker to decide what colors combo to do (I bought R11 and RV55 first b/c I love pink). The new: is the pattern papers, the stamp, and the itty bitty stickers.

Supplies used:
Copics skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E02  Hair: E21, E25, E27, E79 Bubblegum: Rv 55, R11, R35, R29 the bubble gum stand R29, R35, R89 and the glass in the stand C01, C03 Bubblegum Bubble R11 and Rv 06 (I think sorry didn't keep good track today), eyes old olive (shouldn't have done that)
Papers: Reflections cardstock Neuteral pack, light grey cardstock (misc), Sasafrass by october afternoon (pants), Blush by MME, Love Story by EP, Copic Express it
Letters: Thickers ruby red glitter cardstock (I think they were roller rink), Pink Paislee Indigo bleu itty bitty blocks.
Other stuff: Spell Binders circle dies, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dot cuttlebug embossing folder, Bubblegum close to my heart ink pad

Inspired By: Deconstructing Jen, Kraftin kimmies stamps,
Papercuts blog (Michele Boyer I could not figure out her hair for the life of me so I went to find somebody elses image to learn where to put the high lights. Just not my coloring day today)

Challenges I want to enter this card in:
1. Deconstructed Sketch 86
2. Kraftin Kimmies Stamps Something old something new

Hope you enjoy this Beautiful Sunday!

~Patti

Random Tid Bit about me: I am going to be an auntie any day now. My sis in law due date was yesterday and we couldn't be anymore excited to meet little Magnus (if it's a boy) or Sophia if it is a girl!

Dont call 1-800 missing quite yet...

Hi Everyone,

Wow it has been a long time since I have posted. I think I got a little overwhelmed this year working two jobs, taking care of my dogs medical issues (he is ok but does have chronic health issues) and also having some medical issues in our family I just didn't feel like creating much.

But I am back and it is a new year so I am setting mini goals for myself..... (and no I am not posting on here cause I don't know if I will be able to keep them) but the first goal is now complete which was to create a card pretty simple.

I had my Best friends birthday in November and although we celebrated her birthday I didn't give her a card or presents til after christmas... Well I did take her to the fab four (you would think it was the real beatles the way she was acting haha).

Michelle loves vintage and is into steampunk right now so I stumbled across a website called simply betty stamps (totally her style! yay!) and I really wanted to make her a card with one of their images but which one to choose? well Simply Betty has a challenge going on right now in their facebook group which was just the inspiration I was looking for! I signed up to use this steampunk Betty image and got creating. Gotta say not my usual style but did have fun breaking out of my mold.

I really wanted to play up the steampunk with this and decided to go vintage. Here are the products I used
-Copics (skin: e0000, e000, e00, e02, e11; Hair: e21, 23,25 and 79; clothing silver the C00- C9 depending on darker or lighter tones, the blues E24, E26, E06; lips r29 )
-Papers: Reflections brown cardstock, Bazil antique age papers, american crafts neutral paper pad, DCWV street lace)
- Doily from dollar store sprayed with Tattered Angels Juniper mist
- Karen fosters designs big time brass atique brad with rub on clock (sorry lost packaging don't know where from)
- Tim Holtz metal gears, Netting Vintage inspired by websterpages, cosmo cricket tini text, typewriter alpha I want to say also from cosmo cricket but not 100 % sure, lace (given to me so unknown)

Inspired By: Corinne (shout out to her for setting up this challenge), Simply Betty stamps, Simply Betty stamps fab facebook group girls! Thanks everyone!

Random Fact: my Best friend and I have been friends since Grade 7 ( We are going on almost 13 years now wow! ) I call her Mesh for her nickname and I still do not recall why I started calling her this. I think it is because her name Being Michelle you instantly want to call her shelly or Mich but she doesn't like people calling her that so I combined both... )
